Seasonal Changes!

Just an update on fresh fish options as we go into Fall & Winter….

  • Fresh Cohos….about 2 weeks left….
  • Fresh Halibut is available until about the 2nd week of November (depending on supplies & weather)
  • Fresh Troll Kings will be available throughout the winter months
  • Groundfish (Petrale, Dover, Rockfish, Lingcod) available all winter and subject to weather conditions

Going into the Holidays…..please keep in mind – if you would like to pre-order larger pieces of Halibut or Salmon we can freeze to order now thru the end of Halibut Season….

ALSO! If you would like full sides of Smoked Salmon – we will have full sides of Smoked Chum, Coho & Sockeye beginning the week of Thanksgiving through New Years.

Mustard-Baked Sole

It is that time of year when the fresh fish is sparse in selection but this provides a great opportunity to branch out and try other seafood you may not be familiar with! Unlike chicken..or beef – no one should ever be bored with seafood.  The options are endless….clams, crab, shrimp, salmon, swordfish, halibut, langostinos and scallops…the flavors and textures vary and complement any side dish or salad.

With that in mind – most people like to start off a new year with good habits and fresh sole and white fish like rockfish and cod are mild and low in fat.  These items are generally regularly available (depending on weather) throughout the winter season….

Try this easy recipe from Eating Well!

Steaming sole and spinach in packets make clean up a snap. Make it a meal: Steamed new potatoes complete this meal.

We’ve got a list of important dates & deadlines going into the holiday season!  Remember to get your wishlists together for shellfish, salmon, crab and halibut – pre-orders are highly recommended!!!

  • Wed Nov. 23rd – Thanksgiving Eve – Close at 4pm
  • Thurs-Sun Nov 24-27 – Thanksgiving Weekend – Closed
  • Friday-Dec. 9th – Final Drop-off for Custom Smoking
  • Wed-Dec 14th – Final Day for Ground Shipping
  • Tues-Dec 20th – Final Day for Fedex Express Shipments
  • Wed – Dec 21st – Final Day for Fedex Shipments w/ Whl Ckd Crab
  • Sat Xmas eve – Close at 2pm
  • Dec 25-27 – Closed
  • Dec 28-31st – OPEN
  • Jan 1-8 – CLOSED

All orders needing to be re-shipped will be dealt with AFTER Jan 8th, 2012.

Custom Processing

Salmon are really starting to run now! If you happen to catch one fresh or have old stuff in the freezer needing to make room for the new stuff – let us smoke or fillet and vacuum seal your catch! All charges are based on incoming weight – as always we will remove the pin-bones for no additional charge.
Custom Smoking is $3.95/lb
Filleting $1/lb
Vacuum Sealing $1/lb
Flash-Freezing $1/lb

Holidays….and Custom Processing

Did you catch a lot of fish this Summer?  Do you have leftovers in your freezer from the previous season?  If so – then have us hot-smoke or can your fish for holiday gift-giving or parties!

We are a HACCP certified facility – with the ability to hot-smoke Blackcod, Halibut, Salmon, Tuna.  We are are certified to can Tuna and Salmon.

All fish brought in for custom processing must be gutted and no bloodlines.

Our Drop-off Deadline this year for holiday custom processing will be:

Nov 12th for canned product

December 3rd for hot-smoked product

Start cleaning out those freezers!!
